My new novel:
The Aberdeen skies are under attack from an enemy jet. It is spilling a strange yellow smoke. Minutes later, people start killing each other.
Former Royal Air Force Regiment Gunner Jason Harper witnesses this and then his wife, Pippa, telephones him, shouting that she needs him. They then get cut off. He sets straight out, unprepared for the nightmare that unfolds during his journey. Everyone seems to want to kill him.
Along the way, he pairs up with fellow survivor Imogen. But she enjoys killing the living dead far too much. Will she kill Jason in her blood thirst? Or will she hinder his journey through this zombie filled dystopian landscape to find his pregnant wife?
The Fence is the first in this series of post-apocalyptic military survival thrillers from the torturous mind of local horror and science fiction novel writer C.G. Buswell.

Nouvelle Indian Cuisine
Do allow an extra 10 - 20 minutes than normal when visiting a restaurant - the Cinnamon Restaurant has an extensive menu to choose from and all the food is freshly made. A worthwhile wait you'll agree once you've dined here, the food is exquisite and has to be the best Indian food we have tasted in Aberdeen. The extra wait soon passes because you get complimentary poppadums and relishes. Each poppadum is crispy and light and the relishes, such as cucumber dip and mango chutney are all home-made.
Cinnamon Restaurant Menu
Portions are generous and many meals come with rice. The Shomi Special is highly recommended. It is named after the sister of owner and head chef Khalis Miah. It is a lightly spiced dish containing a range of tenderly cooked meats such as chicken, lamb and beef and seafood such as prawns. Served on a bed of pilau rice with refreshing raw vegetables, such as juicy cucumber and tomatoes around the edge and topped with fried onions and peppers. Presentation is visually stunning and thoughtful - even the tomatoes are chopped into love heart shapes.
Breads such as nan and chapatti are lovely and fresh and are home baked on the premises. Most of the special meals come with rice which is fluffy and non sticky.
The menu changes monthly but favourite starter dishes include salmon kebab which has been marinated in yoghurt and sesame oil and then charcoaled, tiger prawns roasted in tandoor and then finished with ginger and cinnamon. There are also traditional Indian starters such as samosas with a choice of fillings, a range of pakoras and onion bhajias.
Main meals include a humorously named chefs experiments section which have dishes such as burnt green curry which is chicken tossed in burnt spinach and then mixed with spices and herbs and also Mango Murgh which are tender cutlets of chicken served in a thick mango curry cooked to Bangalore style. Traditional Indian dishes such as pasanda dishes and balti meals are also available from the menu.
A range of side dishes include yellow lentils with okra, saag makhani (spinach cooked with baby corn and cherry tomatoes) and bharwan baign (baby aubergines with fresh coriander and mustard seeds).
Prices are very reasonable and some delicious mint chocolates are given to finish off a finely cooked and served meal.
If choosing from their special group or couples' meals you will need to book at least 24 hours ahead. If you are eating in the evening it is best to make a reservation. Lunch time visits are generally less busy, though table booking is still recommended.
There is an extensive takeaway menu which includes set menus.
Have you seen my beautiful golden retriever Lynne out and about in Aberdeen? Ask her for a high-five! She's a Bravehound PTSD assistance dog, so we'll often be in shops, restaurants, and the cinema together.
We've written a book where I talk about growing up in Aberdeen and then joining the army to be a medic and nurse, and developing military Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
I also talk about losing my son to suicide and the therapy I have had at Royal Cornhill Hospital and grief support groups in Aberdeen.
The author, Damien Lewis, said of Lynne:
"A powerful account of what one dog means to one man on his road to recovery. Both heart-warming and life-affirming. Bravo Chris and Lynne. Bravo Bravehound."
