My new novel:

The Fence Aberdeen Zombie post apocalyptic military survival Novel Book

The Aberdeen skies are under attack from an enemy jet. It is spilling a strange yellow smoke. Minutes later, people start killing each other.
Former Royal Air Force Regiment Gunner Jason Harper witnesses this and then his wife, Pippa, telephones him, shouting that she needs him. They then get cut off. He sets straight out, unprepared for the nightmare that unfolds during his journey. Everyone seems to want to kill him.
Along the way, he pairs up with fellow survivor Imogen. But she enjoys killing the living dead far too much. Will she kill Jason in her blood thirst? Or will she hinder his journey through this zombie filled dystopian landscape to find his pregnant wife?
The Fence is the first in this series of post-apocalyptic military survival thrillers from the torturous mind of local horror and science fiction novel writer C.G. Buswell.

You will need to pay a joining fee to the club, then monthly fees thereafter. There are two levels of membership - peak and off peak hours, with off peak hours being cheaper. Off peaks hours are 0830 - 1630 hours weekdays and 0800 - 2000 hours at the weekend. You can use the facilities out with these times by paying a small fee for that day.
Those aged over 60 years receive discounted membership. Membership gives you full access to the pool, hot spas, steam rooms, classes and all equipment and machines.

The reception area is staffed during opening times, ensuring only members have access to the club and the facilities.

The changing rooms are luxurious and spacious, with lockers, hairdryers, solariums, showers and seating.

Upon joining, and at any time of your membership, you get an initiation to each machine and keep fit apparatus. You can also get a fitness regime, which you can ask to be reviewed at anytime. There are always members of staff within the gym and areas who can help you with the equipment and give advice.

Many of the machines, like the bicycles, have a built in television, so you need never miss your favourite programme whilst you keep fit. It even has SKY TV channels. None of the keep fit machines, like treadmill running machines and rowing machines, look onto a mirror - so you don't have to stare at yourself puffing away! Better to watch TV!

There is a swimming pool that is used for classes such as aqua-aerobics. When classes are being run half of the pool is roped off so that swimmers can use some of the lanes.

The hot spas are a great place to relax whilst the steam rooms help you get rid of impurities.

More classes, such as yoga, belly dancing, pilates, and aerobics take place in the large studios under the guidance of trained staff. Classes are split into beginner, intermediate and advanced with some general classes. Classes are included in the membership fees, but need to be booked in advance due to their popularity.

Within the main gym complex there is a range of free weights and weight machines. A trained member of staff is always on duty here. As with the fitness machines, there are many stations available, so even in peak times you won't have to wait to use the equipment.

By the exit is the cafe which sells a range of refreshing drinks and snacks in a relaxing area.

Aberdeen Lynne Golden Retriever

Have you seen my beautiful golden retriever Lynne out and about in Aberdeen? Ask her for a high-five! She's a Bravehound PTSD assistance dog, so we'll often be in shops, restaurants, and the cinema together.

We've written a book where I talk about growing up in Aberdeen and then joining the army to be a medic and nurse, and developing military Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

I also talk about losing my son to suicide and the therapy I have had at Royal Cornhill Hospital and grief support groups in Aberdeen.

The author, Damien Lewis, said of Lynne:

"A powerful account of what one dog means to one man on his road to recovery. Both heart-warming and life-affirming. Bravo Chris and Lynne. Bravo Bravehound."
