Biography of actress, singer and dancer Amy Lennox who plays in Dolly Parton 9 to 5 Margot in Legally Blonde and Liesel in The Sound of Music musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber
Amy Lennox shot to fame in 2007 when she played Liesel, the eldest daughter of the Von Trapp family, in the London West End musical The Sound of Music by Andrew Lloyd Webber. She then starred alongside Connie Fisher at the London Palladium. Connie Fisher won the role of Maria in the BBC show How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria?

His Majesty's Theatre Aberdeen
She often performs to a home crowd at
His Majesty's Theatre Aberdeen which has included Legally Blonde where she played the lead role of Elle Woods for a two week run. Other actors in the cast of Legally Blonde included Les Dennis (who got stuck in the back lift on the way to his dressing room and became a twitter sensation when he tweeted about it!), Ray Quinn and Niki Evans. From 24 to 29 June 2013 she performs as Doralee in Dolly Parton the 9 to 5 Musical.
The Decade
The Decade was a play about the legacy from the events of 9/11 and the lowere Manhattan, New York City, World Trade Centre and was performed in 2011 to mark the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attacks. The director of The Decade was Rupert Goold and it was written by Tony Kushner, John Logan and Paul Laverty. The debut performance took place near to St Katharine Docks which was used as London's World Trade Centre. More details to follow including the role played by Amy Lennox.
The Secret Garden
She stared as the character Mary Lennox in The Secret Garden at the Birmingham Repertory Theatre. The Secret Garden ran from 25 November 2010 to 8 January 2011. For more information visit

Legally Blonde
In 2010 she appeared in the musical Legally Blonde at the Savoy Theatre in London West End. She played the role of Margot opposite to actress Sheridan Smith who played Elle Woods and actor and singer (Blue) Duncan James who plays Warner in Legally Blonde. For one month she performed the star role of Elle Woods when Sheridan Smith was ill during the run of the musical Legally Blonde.
Never Let Me Go
She appeared in the 2010 film, Never Let Me Go, which starred Keira Knightley, Carey Mulligan, Andrew Garfield and Charlotte Rampling. Never Let Me Go is about a lady who looks back on her private school years in England and meets her old school friends to face some dark secrets. She was the American Girl in Never Let Me Go.

We've written a book where I talk about growing up in Aberdeen and then joining the army to be a medic and nurse, and developing military Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
I also talk about losing my son to suicide and the therapy I have had at Royal Cornhill Hospital and grief support groups in Aberdeen.

In 2009 she played the part of Jenny in The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie at The Royal & Derngate Theatre Northampton England and at the Assembly Rooms in Edinburgh Scotland.

Union Square Aberdeen Shopping Centre opened in 2009 Amy Lennox provided the voice over work for the adverts for STV.

Aberdonians will be familiar with the talent of this Scottish actress, singer and dancer with her outstanding performance as Cinderella in the
2006 pantomime at HMT Aberdeen. From this she auditioned in front of Andrew Lloyd Webber for the role of Liesel, the eldest sister in the Sound of Music. She had to sing
You are 16 going on 17 as part of the audition with many other hopefuls. Amy Lennox was picked and started rehearsals in August 2007 and The Sound of Music first night was on the 24 September 2007 at the London Palladium.
In Mile End Primary School she played the lead part in her school production of The Princess and the Pea. This gave her a taste for performing and Amy joined many local Aberdeen amateur productions such as the Giz Giz theatre whilst at Aberdeen Grammar School. Here she met Annie Inglis Aberdeen's well loved drama teacher who has helped many Aberdonians in their performances. She then joined the Aberdeen Youth Music Theatre where she had early experience of performing in The Sound of Music as Louisa, one of the younger sisters. After this performance Amy Lennox performed in her first panto as Wendy in Peter Pan in 2003 at His Majesty's Theatre.
She studied at the Guildford School of Acting. Her parents, dad Iain and mother Wendy, still live in Ferryhill, Aberdeen. Iain works for the Cornerstone charity whilst Wendy is a solicitor. She has a brother called James and a sister Victoria. They are both showing show business talent with James being in a local band whilst Victoria is a dancer.

Peter Pan
She reprised one of her first acting roles when she once again starred in Peter Pan as Wendy in its run from 22 November 2008 to 31 January 2009. This time though she was performing in the musical version of Peter Pan rather than the Christmas pantomime. She can be seen in Peter Pan at the West Yorkshire Playhouse.
