My new novel:
The Aberdeen skies are under attack from an enemy jet. It is spilling a strange yellow smoke. Minutes later, people start killing each other.
Former Royal Air Force Regiment Gunner Jason Harper witnesses this and then his wife, Pippa, telephones him, shouting that she needs him. They then get cut off. He sets straight out, unprepared for the nightmare that unfolds during his journey. Everyone seems to want to kill him.
Along the way, he pairs up with fellow survivor Imogen. But she enjoys killing the living dead far too much. Will she kill Jason in her blood thirst? Or will she hinder his journey through this zombie filled dystopian landscape to find his pregnant wife?
The Fence is the first in this series of post-apocalyptic military survival thrillers from the torturous mind of local horror and science fiction novel writer C.G. Buswell.

Sizzling Wok
Sizzling Wok at Aberdeen Beach in Scotland is the first all you can eat buffet restaurant review. It opened in August 2010 on the site of Fandangos. It is tastefully decorated and has disabled access. There is a lower floor of seating and open plan kitchens are on the main floor with some beautiful views across the beach and the North Sea.
Staff are ever so friendly and helpful and efficiently clear the tables. Not only can you help yourself to the many starters, mains and puddings, but you can choose your own raw ingredients, take it to the chefs at the open plan kitchen and watch it being cooked just how you like it with a choice of eight sauces. Ingredients include nice cuts of meats such as pork, beef and chicken, a range of vegetables such as broccoli, baby sweet corn, carrots, peppers, mushrooms, cauliflower and bean sprouts, chestnuts, etc.
It is a real joy to watch the chefs at Sizzling Wok Aberdeen stir fry the main course as they prepare the wok with boiling hot oil and then quickly stir fry the food with your chosen sauce. The smells are sensational and it only takes a few minutes of waiting to receive piping hot food.
You simply help yourself to the items you'd like. For starters this ranges from soups such as sweet and sour soup, barbecue spare ribs, sesame prawn toast, pakora, spring rolls, chicken balls, seaweed and chicken satay skewers. There are over a dozen main meals which include a range of rice, noodles, and curries. We enjoyed a mixture of yellow chicken curry, Singapore noodles, beef chow mein and prawn crackers. We also enjoyed a freshly made tikka and garlic sauce meal by the chef.
Have you seen my beautiful golden retriever Lynne out and about in Aberdeen? Ask her for a high-five! She's a Bravehound PTSD assistance dog, so we'll often be in shops, restaurants, and the cinema together.
We've written a book where I talk about growing up in Aberdeen and then joining the army to be a medic and nurse, and developing military Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
I also talk about losing my son to suicide and the therapy I have had at Royal Cornhill Hospital and grief support groups in Aberdeen.
The author, Damien Lewis, said of Lynne:
"A powerful account of what one dog means to one man on his road to recovery. Both heart-warming and life-affirming. Bravo Chris and Lynne. Bravo Bravehound."

One other unique advantage is that it stocks a range of cuisine that is bound to appeal to everyone if a party which includes Chinese, Indian, Thai and vegetarian dishes.
Other food served at this all you can eat buffet Aberdeen include sushi from which we enjoyed a crab sushi and a range of salads.
Another major advantage of this is that the food is not too fatty and doesn't leave you feeling boated and over stuffed. So there is plenty of room for pudding! Desserts range from chocolate roll, toffee cheesecake, fresh fruit, jelly, ice cream from a Mr Whippy type machine and a really indulgent jam tart.
This is fantastic value at just £5-99 for an adult. We think children prices start at just £4-80. Kids aged under three years eat free. Unlike others that open at noon until 2pm and then re-open at 5pm with a more expensive menu, it stays open from noon until 11pm Sunday to Thursday and noon until 11:30pm Friday and Saturday. So after a day's shopping or sunbathing you can enjoy an all you can eat buffet.
There is plenty of room between tables - handy for when the waistline expands! Children are made welcome and there are many highchairs available. Toilets are downstairs but there is a disabled toilet on the ground floor. The entrance is on one level making this an ideal restaurant for those using a wheelchair or pushing a buggy or pram.
It has a loyalty scheme where for each adult meal you purchase you are given a free voucher. Collect five vouchers and you get awarded a free lunch.
