Meldrum House Oldmeldrum White Lady Ghost and History

The History Of Meldrum House

Meldrum House is a magnificent mansion incorporating an old castle. The building also boasts some stunning round towers.

The Meldrum family owned the House until 1450. It was then owned by the Seton family until the Urquhart family took over ownership in 1670.

Meldrum House is now a Hotel, Golfing Retreat and Country Estate.

I have published a book which tells the story of an Aberdonian military nurse who returns from Afghanistan and encounters The Grey Lady Ghost of the Cambridge Military Hospital. The novel reveals her origins and takes him to a pre-war Duthie Park, modern day Cruden Bay and back to the past to the Battle of Loos in World War One where he witnesses the Gordon Highlanders in action. This is the first in the series of Grey and Scarlet Novels by me, CG Buswell, and each book will feature a well known Aberdeen ghost and Aberdeenshire area as well as modern Scottish Infantry in action. Read the first chapter for free.

The Ghosts Of Meldrum House

A White Lady ghost is said to appear to children who are left on their own. The children would report being looked after by a lady in a white dress.

During a thunder storm a male guest reported getting a cold kiss from the White Lady.

Others have reported seeing a Green Lady ghost.
