Dining in the Dark

Experience fine cuisine on a whole new level! An Inverurie sports venue known for its fine food is getting into the swing of things by giving diners an opportunity to experience some of their cuisine in a whole different way by Dining in the Dark!

Dining in the Dark Inverurie Aberdeenshire Scotland

A Banquet in the Dark takes place at The Montgomery Restaurant at Inverurie Golf Club, Aberdeenshire on Friday 30th November at 6.30pm for 7pm. Diners will be treated to a 4-course meal and a glass of Prosecco on arrival and the fact that the food will be enjoyed whilst attendees wear blindfolds will awaken their taste buds!

The dining in the dark evening is organised by North East Sensory Services and all proceeds are going to the charity that supports anyone affected by a sight or hearing loss in the North East of Scotland.

Neil Skene Fundraising Co-ordinator with NESS said:

This is a fantastic opportunity to enjoy fine food, and to really appreciate the taste and textures, the real challenge is not so much in the eating, but the pressure is on the chefs as the diners will have no visual distractions, so their taste buds will be the judges, so often people eat with their eyes which can often mean they prejudge the flavours, well not on this occasion!

Tickets cost £30 and are still available online at www.nesensoryservices.org or by calling 01224 792954.

The Charity North East Sensory Services is a local independent charity with the main aim of achieving independence for blind and deaf people. It is the first integrated joint sensory service in Scotland and delivers much needed information, equipment and support.

More information on what this amazing charity does can be found online at: www.nesensoryservices.org

My new novel:

The Fence Aberdeen Zombie post apocalyptic military survival Novel Book

The Aberdeen skies are under attack from an enemy jet. It is spilling a strange yellow smoke. Minutes later, people start killing each other.
Former Royal Air Force Regiment Gunner Jason Harper witnesses this and then his wife, Pippa, telephones him, shouting that she needs him. They then get cut off. He sets straight out, unprepared for the nightmare that unfolds during his journey. Everyone seems to want to kill him.
Along the way, he pairs up with fellow survivor Imogen. But she enjoys killing the living dead far too much. Will she kill Jason in her blood thirst? Or will she hinder his journey through this zombie filled dystopian landscape to find his pregnant wife?
The Fence is the first in this series of post-apocalyptic military survival thrillers from the torturous mind of local horror and science fiction novel writer C.G. Buswell.

Aberdeen Lynne Golden Retriever

Have you seen my beautiful golden retriever Lynne out and about in Aberdeen? Ask her for a high-five! She's a Bravehound PTSD assistance dog, so we'll often be in shops, restaurants, and the cinema together.

We've written a book where I talk about growing up in Aberdeen and then joining the army to be a medic and nurse, and developing military Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

I also talk about losing my son to suicide and the therapy I have had at Royal Cornhill Hospital and grief support groups in Aberdeen.

The author, Damien Lewis, said of Lynne:

"A powerful account of what one dog means to one man on his road to recovery. Both heart-warming and life-affirming. Bravo Chris and Lynne. Bravo Bravehound."
