Biography And Art Work Of Contemporary Artist Stephen Hall



Stephen Hall was born in Mastrick, Aberdeen and educated at Aberdeen Grammar School. He lived in a tenement flat at 77 North Anderson Drive.

His first art exhibition was when one of his pictures was exhibited at the Aberdeen Artists Exhibition at Aberdeen Art Gallery when Stephen was 17.

In 1977 Stephen had his first own exhibition in Israel.

Stephen moved to New York in 1978.

I have published a book which tells the story of an Aberdonian military nurse who returns from Afghanistan and encounters The Grey Lady Ghost of the Cambridge Military Hospital. The novel reveals her origins and takes him to a pre-war Duthie Park, modern day Cruden Bay and back to the past to the Battle of Loos in World War One where he witnesses the Gordon Highlanders in action. This is the first in the series of Grey and Scarlet Novels by me, CG Buswell, and each book will feature a well known Aberdeen ghost and Aberdeenshire area as well as modern Scottish Infantry in action. Paintings and Artwork Of Stephen Hall


His paintings has been exhibited in the USA, Mexico, Korea and Japan and featured in films such as School of Rock, Benny and Joon, Boys, and Tales From the Dark Side. Bands have also featured his art work in their videos. These include The The, Jungle Brothers and Lenny Kravitz.

Stephen creates abstract shape images, still life forms and surreal figurative images. His work has been purchased by celebrities such as Johnny Depp, Diana Ross and even fellow artist Andy Warhol.

He now lives and works in Greenwich Village, New York
